From lost to saved

         John 15v16
"You did not choose me,but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruits–fruits that will last–and so that whatever you ask for in my name the Father will give you."

The first time I encountered God, I was 16 years old. Funny enough, before all that  I thought I was all clever, I thought I knew it all. My peers used to come to me at school to preach the gospel to me, and I would ask them all the kinds of questions that would trap them. Making them feel like they have less knowledge of what they are talking about or believing. I would ask them questions like " have you've ever seen Jesus, how do you know he is real or not, what makes you think I don't know Jesus?" I went as far as telling them that I pray at home.

A new teacher came to school that year , she didn't even have to try hard. She just asked to talk me during the break period and she said," Jesus Christ wants to save your life, the way you carry yourself is harmful to you."  That's when I started self-reflecting.

If you've ever watched your life in your thoughts, going back to each and every moment, looking and listening to yourself, I was shocked, in fact I was scared. Immediately I went to look for her at the staff room, I cried and told her I would like  to visit her church. Mind you that time I haven't been saved yet, but I was crying because I realised that my life was a mess. Someone will say, " but you were a teenager", yes it was a mess.

That Sunday I went to her church, I accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord and Savior of my life. That is when my life began.

Jesus Christ chose me, I said yes.
